It’s not everyday the world is blessed with a powerful new voice that carries with it truthfulness, love, positivity and hope. Mashiyah is a fresh face in the field of tomorrow’s singers and entertainers and has already cemented herself as a star in the making. Her story is warmly familiar, her personality contagious and the music she makes wins you from the start. Jacksonville, North Carolina is a small town famous for its military bases but may someday be more known as the hometown of the R&B singer/entertainer Mashiyah. Singing since she was 3 and performing since she was 5, as a now 20 year old woman, Mashiyah has put in her work, perfected her craft, and not for one moment forgotten where she comes from. She was steeped in Gospel music from a young age, encouraged by family to get up on the church stage and share her gift with the community. Her foundation was laid by not only the soulful sounds she found in church but also formed by the lessons she learned from family. Her mother taught her how to be caring and loving. Her aunt taught her to have the confidence to be heard. Her uncle, the importance of integrity. Mashiyah is the result of real family and community and purpose. She carries with her a genuine love for music, for art, for creativity and for wanting to make the world something better. Her music conveys an honest, truthful and empowering message. Songs like “Me First” target women and girls needing a reminder of their worth, yet somehow transcend gender and connect to anyone needing to be reminded of their value. For a shy girl from a small town in North Carolina, Mashiyah has managed to transform into one of the most confident and optimistic new voices we have. She has a laser-like focus on the effects she wants to create with her music and how she wants her message to resonate. She is more than a great singer or entertainer, Mashiyah is a great person. Someone filled with the dreams and hopes of generations and making good on them. She comes from a genuine place and we should all be lucky to experience her world.

Inspiring to see someone from Jacksonville trying to do her thing. Being a black female artist is tough and she’s taking the necessary step to make her music take off. Proud to be a part of her journey. Keep doing yo thing! 💯🤎

Michelangelo once said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” At Artists Run This Planet we see Earth as our marble and we hold a chisel and hammer up to it every day. This beautiful canvas of a planet waits for us to paint it daily. Gone are the days of suppressing art, of pursuits less noble than creating. We have the technology available to create in any medium, and faster than ever before. As artists we are the creators of every new innovation and idea that takes shape. We are mankind’s continual hope and driving force — “Artists Run This Planet." - David Carus, Art Planet CEO & FounderArchives
