Lane Eddington of Nashville, Tennessee started writing songs when she was a child and her music today carries with it that same innocence and wonder and spirit of play that usually only children possess. Yet there is much to say about the maturity of Eddington's work which tackles large themes and makes them accessible. Poetry runs throughout her work, most evidently in her single "Tears Of This Fire," which addresses the subject of love in a very emotionally moving way while demonstrating her poetic nature. Even the music video for "Tears Of This Fire" is a powerful example of Lane Eddington's style and aesthetics which encompass poetry tied intimately to instrumentation and offers a very important glimpse into a prevalent theme of hers: nature itself. It is very peaceful and relaxing, yet inspirational to listen to a Lane Eddington recording. She puts you right into a place meant for the sun and the trees and distant waters. Her music combines aspects of artists such as Joni Mitchell or Richard Marx and yet expands into more modern sounds of electronic and techno. She has pursued her passion for music and poetry as a lifelong endeavor, leaving a trail of many poems and songs in her path. Besides music and poetry Eddington is also a pianist, producer, composer, and dancer. Like the butterfly which graces her website design, Lane Eddington does not fly, she gently glides into your being. Michelangelo once said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” At Artists Run This Planet we see Earth as our marble and we hold a chisel and hammer up to it every day. This beautiful canvas of a planet waits for us to paint it daily. Gone are the days of suppressing art, of pursuits less noble than creating. We have the technology available to create in any medium, and faster than ever before. As artists we are the creators of every new innovation and idea that takes shape. We are mankind’s continual hope and driving force — “Artists Run This Planet." - David Carus, Art Planet CEO & FounderArchives
