Deedee O'Malley is a true renaissance woman. She is an author, songwriter, musician, music producer, actress and is a fantastic singer with one of the loveliest voices around. She is a true professional who has graced the stage with such stars as Willie Nelson and LeAnn Rimes, counts Sheryl Crow and Nancy Cartwright as fans, as had her music featured in television shows like Dawson's Creek, films and commercials, and has created a unique musical style which uplifts, inspires and leaves you breathless. A lot of Deedee O'Malley's music reminds me of some of the great female singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell or Joan Baez. She hits you with songs packed with emotion, dealing with subjects as simple as love and as complex as the holocaust. It is obvious that her works carry a message of hope and redemption, of moving forward. She is credited with writing over 1,000 songs, many of them winning awards from some very significant sources. She has won two Lennon songwriting awards, her first album was the #1 Indie CD of the Year by Music Connection Magazine and she was the Singer-Songwriter of the Year at the Los Angeles Music Awards. Deedee has a perfect love for music because she has spent so much of her life making it. Even when she was acting she acted in over 60 musicals! When she writes, it's about music too. She's written a book about Songwriting called "10 Easy Steps to Writing a Song" and her latest book "The Lemonade Maker" is accompanied by a CD of songs. There is no escaping the discovery of passion and love for music in every ounce of the artistry of Deedee O'Malley. Her career is one filled with song and fortunate for us, she has many more in her. This beautiful canvas of a planet waits for us to paint it daily. Gone are the days of suppressing art, of pursuits less noble than creating. We have the technology available to create in any medium, and faster than ever before. As artists we are the creators of every new innovation and idea that takes shape. We are mankind’s continual hope and driving force — “Artists Run This Planet." - David Carus, Art Planet CEO & FounderArchives
