Elisabeth Donaldson has been designing clothing ever since she was a kid. She wanted to dress up her stuffed animals and dolls so she took some fabric and a pair of scissors and began what has now turned into a successful clothing line with fans around the world. What is most incredible about Elisabeth Donaldson is that she had no formal training and did not go to fashion school, instead she sought out books about fashion design and dressmaking. As a self-taught fashion designer she launched her very own clothing company, Monarch. Donaldson chose the name Monarch because she loves butterflies, she grew up on Monarch Lane and loves the royal connotations that come with the name because she seeks to empower others to feel like royalty. She is a huge supporter of artists and her clothing is a very daring and jubilant statement towards creating a more aesthetic world. She describes her clothing as "modern bohemian chic with a dash of steampunk, a bit of retro vintage and a ton of fun." She admires fashion designer Alexander McQueen but finds herself now at the receiving end of admiration with an ever growing list of customers. Elisabeth Donaldson lives in Tennessee where she is also a talented actress. Her creativity knows no bounds as she is constantly designing innovative looks while also diving into older styles and trying to reinvigorate them, finding an old dress and breathing new life into it. In much the same way, she is breathing new life into an artistic field which literally stays with one for days. Wearing her clothing is like walking around holding a large oil painting but better because, in her clothes you are the work of art. Michelangelo once said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” At Artists Run This Planet we see Earth as our marble and we hold a chisel and hammer up to it every day. This beautiful canvas of a planet waits for us to paint it daily. Gone are the days of suppressing art, of pursuits less noble than creating. We have the technology available to create in any medium, and faster than ever before. As artists we are the creators of every new innovation and idea that takes shape. We are mankind’s continual hope and driving force — “Artists Run This Planet." - David Carus, Art Planet CEO & Founder
