The story of singer Waiki is one that spans three continents. She was born Elik Kazadi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a country devastated by civil war, disease, famine and violence. Her father fought to change things there and ultimately Waiki lost both of her parents to the African nation. Orphaned, she left the DRC for Belgium and a few years later began singing. Her music, like herself, is full of positivity, energy and hope. From a tragic beginning that would have left most people permanently broken, Waiki has managed to transform herself into an inspirational force looking to build up mankind through music and the arts.

A truly international artist, Waiki has been influenced from a diverse range of musicians such as Queens drummer Roger Taylor’s band The Cross, Aloe Blacc and Pete Seeger. Her own music covers a wide range of genres from dance to R&B and house, to folk and pop. Human Among Humans is her latest project and the four track EP seeks to unite people across the world by

focusing on universal themes of peace and love. Her song All We Need reminds us to focus on what’s positive and “go climb to the tops of the mountains of love” — a breath of fresh air. We One is another song from the Human Among Humans EP that injects a burst of positivity, encouraging people towards freedom and reminding us how much stronger we are when we’re together.

Waiki is not only a talented vocalist, she is also a passionate crusader when it comes to helping people. She is the founder of the non-profit PLUS which seeks to promote Peace, Love and Unity through music and art. In everything she does, Waiki strives to communicate a message. Her message is to remind people how much we have in common with each other and that fighting one another is really like fighting ourselves. She knows the consequences of having mankind at war with itself more than anyone and because of this she works tirelessly to pursue creating a world that cares more about love than hate and more about peace than war.

The singer recently arrived in America and is already hard at work recording new material in New York City. She regularly performs at Brooklyn Nights and her new EP Human Among Humans will soon be making its way across multiple continents. Waiki is a unique artist because she has managed to combine her love for music with her purpose of helping people. From her humanitarian work to her musical recordings and beyond, she will certainly make stronger waves as she continues to spread her message of peace, love and unity across the planet. With enough people listening to her message there is no doubt she can help transform the Democratic Republic of Congo, Belgium, America and anywhere else she chooses to send her voice out. The world is shaped by those with the courage to dream and Waiki is one courageous dreamer with some positive vibes.

Michelangelo once said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” At Artists Run This Planet we see Earth as our marble and we hold a chisel and hammer up to it every day. This beautiful canvas of a planet waits for us to paint it daily. Gone are the days of suppressing art, of pursuits less noble than creating. We have the technology available to create in any medium, and faster than ever before. As artists we are the creators of every new innovation and idea that takes shape. We are mankind’s continual hope and driving force — “Artists Run This Planet." - David Carus, Art Planet CEO & Founder
